1st - Read the camp rules regarding food and money.
Some camps allow you to bring snacks or treat for your child or to share with the cabin.
Other camps prefer you don't bring food to keep away pests and other animals.
Be sure and check before you spend any cash on treats for your camper.
Many camps also have stores where you can buy snacks or souvenirs.
They may limit the amount of cash to help keep things equal with the campers.
It's fun to buy stuff from the local store when you are away at camp.

2nd - Read your suggested packing list for the camp you are attending.
Depending on the camp you are attending there may be a need for special items that you may forget,
so be sure and read the list from your camp.
Also include a list of items in your child's bag, so they know what they are bringing to camp.
This will help them when they are packing up to come back home.
You can also put name labels on their clothing items.

3rd - Pack stamped and addressed stationery for your child so they can send a note home or to
another family member [Grandparent or Aunt/Uncle].

here for great camp stationery you can order online.

4th- Include plastic bags for wet or dirty items and a Personalized Laundry Bag for other dirty clothes.

5th - Pack a couple of their favorite books for them to read during free time
or a journal for your child to write about their camp experiences.

6th - Send your child a care package a couple of day before they leave for camp so it will arrive on time.
Kids love getting care packages while they are away at camp.
Email your family members so they can write or send items to your kids too.
